At the Yale Computer Graphics lab, we research a wide variety of topics in graphics and visualization (https://graphics.cs.yale.edu).
In particular, I research simulation methods for physics-based phenomena. These include fluid phenomena such as the delicate motion of smoke, fire, and water, and solid mechanical phenomena, such as the motion of cloth, muscles, and hair.
There are many applications for these algorithms, but the ones we target are movies and games. Our algorithms have appeared in dozens of movies, and are used at major film studios like Pixar, Industrial Light and Magic, DreamWorks, and Weta Digital.
