My research is in the area of mobile robotics, multi-robot sensing and estimation, and platforms for human-robot interaction. On the algorithmic development side, I am interested in the design and development of novel algorithms for sensing and estimation in robotics and the application of Machine Learning algorithms in robotic systems. On the practical side, I am interested in the application for environmental and infrastructure monitoring, search and rescue, and other applications of swarm and aerial robots. The ICRobots lab that I direct is equipped with state-of-the-art motion capture system and robotic platform, and is supported by NSF grants for environmental monitoring and multi-robot system development. Specific applications include, but is not limited to, data collection and design of learning and tracking algorithms for environmental monitoring, multi-robot localization, and human-robot interaction.
