I lead the Visual Analytics and Communication Lab (VACLab) where we explore the development and use of interactive visual analytics methods to support more effective information analysis and communication. Our research combines data visualization, human-computer interaction, statistics and machine learning to help address complex data-driven problems. We explore topics related to numerous application areas with funding from a variety of sources (e.g., NSF, NIH, DOD, Industry). However, our research is often motivated by the many data and analysis challenges faced by data-centric practitioners within the health and biomedical domains. This includes public health, clinical medicine, precision medicine, and more.
