Why is health and wellness data so difficult to collect, share, interpret, and reflect on? This is the main research question that students in the TMI (“Too Much Information”) lab are exploring in the context of several chronic health conditions, including bipolar disorder (BD), anxiety, and type-1 diabetes. We have several ongoing collaborations with clinicians in Boulder and at the CU Anschutz Medical Campus to explore the design, implementation, and field evaluation of semi-automated and self-tracking personal health informatics technologies for making individuals’ health data more understandable, accessible, and thoughtfully integrated into everyday living activities.
