My research is broadly in the area of digital mental health. For me, this means studying the impact of “general” technologies, such as social media and diet/fitness apps, on users’ mental health, as well as technologies specifically designed to support mental health. My work is interdisciplinary, human-centered, and problem-driven and emphasizes the need for mental health and well-being to be at the forefront of what we do. As a first generation college graduate, I also know some of the challenges of pursuing higher education and can support a postdoc navigate the “hidden curriculum” of academia.
