We live in an unprecedented era — the big-data era — when enormous quantities of biomedical data have been accumulated. Automatic pattern analysis of such large-scale data is the key to advance our knowledge in medicine and biology.

The research mission of my laboratory is focused on the invention of intelligent, computational tools to mine the non-coding regions (regulatory modules and repetitive elements) of genomes.

Software development is one of my passions. My group and I have designed and implemented 10 large-scale software tools for analyzing genomes and epigenomes.
