The research is aimed to show how to create a reliable and secure system out of lots of small connected things, each of which is inherently unreliable and insecure. Further, these small things are learning continuously from the data they are receiving from the environment they are embedded in. Two use cases we are working with are first, in advanced manufacturing where sensors are learning about the health and predictive maintenance schedules of the machines and second, in clinical diagnostics using one or more wearable devices measuring a variety of health signals like heart rate and electrocardiogram.
