Overview

At the Parallel Computer Architecture Group at Northwestern (PARAG@N) we work on energy-efficient high-performance parallel computing at all scales through cross-layer design: from emerging devices (e.g., photonics, quantum), to circuits, computer architecture, compilers, runtimes, operating systems, and applications. In particular, our work at the moment seeks to advance the state of the art in three thrusts: (1) parallel systems, by integrating the conventional layers of the system stack — architecture, compilers, OS; (2) practical quantum computation on current small-scale noisy quantum machines, and (3) the intersection of computer architecture and photonics, in particular optical memories.
