My research is on computational science. I work extensively with collection and analysis of remote sensed and the development and implementation of computationally efficient feature extraction algorithms that use high performance computing. This has now expanded into more general research and applications for large data sets. More recently, I also started working on greening the computing infrastructure as well as social aspects of cybersecurity. As a faculty at a Minority Serving Institution, I am also interested to investigate how access to resources such as research cyberinfrastructure impacts the professional path of the students and faculty.
